It's Crunch time but we're almost there. Metra has delayed their vote because they got 30 or 40 emails against pets on trains (See article below.) We have 4,491 signers in favor and WE NEED YOUR HELP! The next Metra board meeting is March 13. Before that meeting Metra needs emails in support of our petition. We already know that animals in carriers rarely cause any trouble. Pets are allowed on trains in other regional transit systems as well as the CTA and on planes. A designated car might be pose "logistical challenges" according to Marty Oberman. Why? They did it with bikes. One car for people with (or without pets) on weekends and off hours does not seem like an impossibility. Metra needs to hear from supporters and soon!
