Nebraska Cosmetologists United
Oct 19, 2017
Lowering the standards for education is a very bad idea. The end results will confuse and harm the public. A very real "trickle-down" effect will occur. The results will eventually tarnish the profession's well regarded reputation in Nebraska. The expected "level of expertise" clients now enjoy will be diminished. and may also put them in danger. Today, all Nebraskans have confidence in salons, barbershops, nail salons, etc. offering services. Let's talk about what happens when a reduction in hours of education take place to be licensed. It will be hard to tell who is a well educated and qualified professional versus someone who has barely a minimum amount knowledge. Yet, the State of Nebraska could possibly be issuing the same license to both. (Do you want the stylist in the photo representing your profession or become an example of what Nebraska's standard for safety is? And worse, do you want to sit in this stylist's chair to get you hair done?) Please protect all Nebraskans and your profession. Please sign our petition. Tomorrow (Friday) is the day of the Interim hearing. Let our Senators on the Health and Human Services Committee hear your voice. We're counting on you. Please join our grassroots movement!
