A new study suggests that a drug called Keytruda (that you may have seen commercials for) is more effective in treating a specific cancer type than chemotherapy.

Keytruda is most commonly used to treat Melanoma, a common type of skin cancer. It can also be used to treat Hodgkin lymphoma, stomach cancer, cervical cancer, and many others.

Last year, Merck, the maker of Keytruda, announced that it would cut list prices by at least 10% for several of its drugs. The company took a loophole, though, and hasn’t cut the list prices for some of its top-selling drugs (like Keytruda).

Drug companies have not been doing their part. These companies have again and again resisted state and federal legislation that aims to help with prescription drug pricing.

These CEO’s don’t actually want to lower prescription drug costs - and that is because they are making so much money off of the suffering of the American people.

Merck’s CEO Ken Frazier makes tens of millions of dollars every year. In 2017, he made $17 million.

People are dying every day because they are rationing their prescription drugs so they can put food on the table and pay rent. Pharmaceutical CEO’s are putting money first and Americans last, and that isn’t right.
