Mental Health in Children & Teens

Mental Health in Children & Teens
The Issue
Teens and kids have been checking out mentally longer than anyone realizes. All of a sudden in the presence of the families own home, or they think they’re children are just out having “fun” telling a little lie behind their façade.
They are startled, shocked and have to grieve by a sudden death of suicide by their child. Their child that they swore was happy, had no issues, had lots of caring friends and don’t know what happened.Or you have the other families where they try to talk to their families and they treat their kids as they make them seem as if they are wrong for what they feel or as if they have no reason to feel what they feel behind the scenes.
Telling them that they are the cause instead of it all when that is never the case. A strong Support system is always a key. Whether they get it from blood family or not.
Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Social phobia
These things can effect your body in a negative way. Your child can start eating less, start getting irritable, noticeable weight loss, depending on the person not sleeping well or sleeping the day away and personality changes. Possible drug use as well
If you start noticing these changes in someone it would be good to start talking to them. Trying to reach out to them. It’s clear that something is going on. Everyone needs someone. We all have the power to do something even if you are strangers. It means something to them.
Mentify is therapy but, in a way where kids and teens can come in and get some time off, make some new friends and help each other grow. There would be different stations in the building where the kids can unwind. Arts and crafts, Video game station (kinetic games), little library area, and a Recreational Game Room in groups with a guided volunteer mentor.
We will also Try our best to get a partnered therapist apart of the organization to work with the kids upon signed consent formed of the parents.
For kids 8-18
We will give them an ID to show they are apart of the Mentify program to be proud of and to make sure no strangers walk in.
