Hello Ukiah Animal Shelter Supporters, We first want to thank all of you who have been sharing the petition as well as sending letters to the Board of Supervisors and the Executive Director. We believe it is working! Now, we have another mission for all of you… We think it is just as beneficial if not more to directly call the Board of Supervisors and Executive Director to voice your opinion on the matter. We are trying to gather as much information as possible on their stances regarding this potential change. If you call, please email info@pawstoadopt.com with any information you have gathered. We want to continue to inundate them with all this wonderful support we have for Health and Human Services Agency keeping Animal Care Services under their management. If you are interested… Please contact your respective Supervisor if you live in Mendocino County and/or if you wish to voice your opinion by contacting the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors Chair: John Pinches. The BOS Office phone number is 707-463-4221 and ask for your District Supervisor or Chair Pinches. If you wish to set up a meeting or send a letter, their general email is (bos@co.mendocino.ca.us) - be sure to copy and paste this email address as it gets cut off by clicking it directly. For more contact information for each Supervisor click here: http://www.co.mendocino.ca.us/bos/contact.htm. Also, please voice your opinion to the Executive Director: Carmel J. Angelo at 707-463-4441 or (ceo@co.mendocino.ca.us). Again, please copy and paste this email address as it gets cut off by clicking it directly. On another note, many of the supporters of the Ukiah Animal Shelter have asked when the Board of Supervisors Meeting will be coming up on the Agenda. There will only be a 72 hour notice when the evaluation of the pros and cons of this proposed change to re-integrate Animal Control and Animal Care as a single operational unit under the Sheriff’s Office - from H&HAS Director Stacey Cryer and Sheriff Tom Allman -are presented to the Board of Supervisors. Please keep checking: http://www.co.mendocino.ca.us/bos/meetings/PublishedMeetings.htm The Agenda is posted 72 hours prior to a BOS Meeting which generally has been on Tuesdays, some on Mondays. Each Agenda is posted around 5:00 pm or later on Thursdays. There is an “Interested Party Roster”, which anyone can get on by phoning Tim Mitchell at the Executive Office: 707-463-4441 (ask for Tim) and request to be put on the roster for ANY BOS Agenda items regarding Animal Care Services and/or Animal Control Services. And lastly, we made the Ukiah Daily Journal! Click the link below to read the article: http://www.ukiahdailyjournal.com/news/ci_26620307/mendocino-county-animal-shelter-volunteer-group-opposes-mcso. Comment on the article sharing your thoughts!!! We thank you all so much for your support to KEEP Animal Care Services under the management of Health and Human Services and not integrated under law enforcement. We will need everyone at the Board of Supervisors Meeting when this item comes up on the Agenda!!!
