The COB is Refusing to record or allow general, open, public access to Broadband Advisory Group meetings even though other public orgs. do it all of the time and it's standard procedure for public organizations.
Public works director Eric Johnston wrote to me today to confirm that the COB is refusing to provide a general public link to their Broadband Advisory Group Zoom meetings like the PUD and other public orgs. do when they meet. They are requiring a special signup instead. They are also refusing to record or distribute the meetings because apparently hitting record in Zoom is too hard for them to do and they want these special interest filled meetings to be as secret as possible to protect WAVE and big telecom. They also put a WAVE employee on as a voting member. These are public meetings, and you are hypothetically allowed to record them. I'm not saying to, I'm just saying. Kazam is a great application for Linux. It is very easy to make this an open, public, transparent meeting. Why is the COB so against transparency?
