Please contact your legislators in support of HB-1336.This bill would allow PUDs to provide full retail service to their customers instead of just wholesale service. As we know, the Port and PUD have been taking broadband a lot more seriously than the City or County governments and have full jurisdiction over the entire county, including the city. This bill would go a long way to solving our broadband problems. Links to the bill and to find your legislators are below. I should also note that WA state is one of only a few states that have special laws in place to protect big telecom and not allow other entities to challenge them. This bill would go a long way to getting rid of our odd, preferential, treatment of big telecom in Washington state.
