Dear friends and neighbors,
Thank you for your support as we tried to stop the demolition of a house on Yale Terrace. As you know, we're sorry that we were unable to do that, and now we have to turn our attention to stopping the expansion of unlawful commercial uses of that property and other lots on our quiet, residential street.
But first, we are asking the City to hold Bicon Dental Implants to the same standards as every other business in the City: to have proper permitting for the uses and the design of their building.
You are likely unaware of this, but Bicon Dental Implants has been operating a dental clinic and laboratory, along with other commercial uses, in their existing building for many years, despite never having applied for, or gone through the public process required, for the necessary use permits and zoning variances.
So, we, the Yale Terrace Neighborhood Association, are asking the City's Inspectional Services Department to revoke Bicon Dental Implants' occupancy permit until they go through the necessary approvals process, which of course will involve responding to the concerns of the community, including abutters.
We are attaching, FYI, the letter we sent to the City making this request, and a link to an article just published in the Jamaica Plain Gazette on the same topic. We will continue to use this Change.org site to send updates on this and on related issues pertaining to our neighborhood association's efforts to stop Bicon's commercial expansion onto Yale Terrace.
