There are countless police involved shootings, beatings and deaths that occur not only in the City of Baltimore but on a nationwide scale. Most of these incidents can be avoided but the powers that be dont seem interested in the cries of its constituents. There is a lack of empathy and sensitivity training that comes with community service and its effects are becoming more and more apparent. My cousin Tyrone West is the latest victim in a series of police custody involved murders and none of the aforementioned parties has even acknowledged the severity of the incident or any wrongdoing on the part of the 12-15 officers involved. There are a myriad of witnesses from the community who have given statements to media and the police attesting to the facts of the incident. They all point squarely to excessive force used on the part of the BCPD and MSU Police in what was deemed a "traffic stop" by an unmarked police car and plainclothes "undercover" policeman. Here is an account of the incident from a neighbor who witnessed it firsthand:

On July 18, 2013 she is the only one who spoke out and had her information distorted on such a brutal and heinous miscarriage of justice by our police force whose job it is to protect its citizens. The purpose of the stop of Tyrone Antonio West , age 44, and a young lady was a drug stop because his lady friend passed him a piece of chicken. Upon being stopped by officers we pay to protect us, he was dragged out of the car by his dread locks, put on the ground where he was pepper sprayed. That is the time he should have been handcuffed if he had committed a crime. No, the officers used him as a test case to see how much punishment he could stand. The officers called for backup and several cars showed up with 10 -12 officers present for one man, and the show began. He was sprayed again in the face with more pepper spray so he tried to calm the burning down by running and hollowing, “Help Me, Help me. He was beaten to death by those 12 officers including 2 from our prestigious The Great Morgan University.
We cannot have our police force acting like hoodlums when they are using crowd control of 10- 12 officers hitting one person with batons and using pepper spray also to subdue any citizen. Tyrone West was the subject of this brutality which is some of the worst brutality seen in Baltimore or in America. The reason we moved in this area is for the peace it brings us. Do not let our peace go without you help to get these officers in jail where they belong. When they finished pepper spraying and hitting MR. West, he was dead. CPR was given to revive him after the cruel show of what armed cowards called police can do in a group can do. The ambulance took 32 minutes to arrive, WHY?
If you have any videos of this incident, pleased send it to me if you are afraid to send it to the newspapers that will pay for the video. Call the newspapers and they can take it from your phone without identifying you and they will pay you if you have the entire circus that killed one of our citizens who happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Do not give it to any police officer because they already have it because the helicopter overhead already recorded it. The officers are going to distort it to match what they say happened. It could have been you, your son, brother, father or friend.
Don’t let the officers sweep this under the rug and go back to work the next day after the trial like they did in the Anthony Anderson case. Help your neighbors and be a witness to come forward.
