Save Golden Gate Park

The Issue

Outside Lands is a music festival which has been located in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park since 2008. The festival displaces local residents from a large portion of the publicly funded park for weeks to accommodate setup and takedown. Despite the fact the park is maintained by public funds, local residents and taxpayers are prohibited from using certain areas of the park for the duration of the festival's occupancy. The festival is a nuisance to local residents due to additional traffic, noise pollution, littering, and damage to the park by festival goers.

Numerous concert venues exist throughout the SF Bay area which are better suited to hosting such an event. This petition is intended help public officials understand that the general public prefers the park to be accessible to all residents and visitors throughout the year. Please sign below if you agree that Outside Lands should be banned from Golden Gate Park, or that it should be made open free of charge to the general public.

Thank you for your consideration and support.
