Call for appropriately placed Zebra Crossings

There is a major lack of Pedestrian Crossings on Poseidonos Ave. This Avenue remains the major route accessed by tourists, locals and the disabled. However, this road remains unfriendly to users. Pedestrian crossings are minimal and are non - existent on the Avenue from Alexander the Great Hotel to the Harbour front. It is essential before 2017 to provide not only new crossings but to also include dropped curbs on both sides of the proposed "Raised" crossings shown above so people with a disability and their wheelchairs can use these crossings and along with every visitor and resident access the beach from Poseidonos Avenue safely. At present more locals and tourists cross the roads at these walkways that any other part of Poseidonos Avenue. I would also suggest that more permanent speed restriction road signs are introduced between Alexander the Great Hotel and Cafe Vienna and that permanent speed bumps are introduced to cut down on the historical embarrassment of speeding motorcyclists and car users who continually use Poseidonos Avenue as a Racing Track. The issues now need to be raised in light of Pafos City of Culture 2017 where I propose that Paphos City must be seen to put the Health and Safety of its Tourists, Residents and those people with a Physical Disability first.
