Mayor of San Diego and the San Diego City Council: Please ban single use plastic bags in San Diego

Plastic bags may not seem harmful, but are actually very dangerous to our environment and future.  Are they really worth overflowing our land fills, killing animals, and polluting our environment.

They kill over 100,000 marine animals and thousands of birds every year.

Every man, woman and child on our planet uses more than 100 bags a year.  That may not seem like a lot but we use over 3,000,000,000,000 (three trillion) plastic bags worldwide annually. And only 1% are recycled!

They take over 400 years to biodegrade, so your children's children's children will still have the burden of the same plastic bag you used today!

As these bags break down, the chemicals and toxins from the bags are released into our soil and drinking water.

Please help us act against this damaging threat to our environment by signing this petition and banning the use of plastic bags in San Diego.
