This petition has come full circle and then some. Thank you all so much for the unconditional support. Looking through the data and comments it was one of the proudest and amazing moments to see just how many people we were able to reach in such a small amount of time with the resource of social media. People all over from Nigeria, to Sweden, even Canada to right back here in the US. I've contemplated using the given title of declaring victory because to be completely honest victory in a subject like this is not one stop. It is instead a continuous road that keeps going because of people like you! However this particular goal was not only reached but surpassed. Even though we still await the changes in curriculum, there was action taken eventually not only with the student in question but also on behalf of faculty and clubs provided that spoke on what needed to be talked about. What started as one instagram post, rippled through the community and reached so many people willing to advocate for change in a system that has seen so little. Forever proud of that. I hope this encourages you to spark change in your communities and to fight for what you believe in while learning to keep an open mind and attitude.
