Make metro station Côte-Vertu more secure place

Make metro station Côte-Vertu more secure place

I was waiting for my wife in the car in the parking lot in Edouard-Laurin Boulevard entrance of the metro station Côte-Vertu. It was dark. The street light is very poor in this area. I heard some yelling and I thought it were just teens fooling around. They gather here often.
My wife came. She opened the car's doors and I saw her face in tears, she was crying heavily, shaking. She was very disturbed. To my question what happened, she answered:
- "They are animals, they are not people. Never, ever our son will come to this horrible metro station alone. A young boy, 14-15 years old, was walking down the street alone with skateboard in his hands when suddenly one the bullies from a teenage gang ran towards him, jumped and kicked him down. This poor teen felt and then these animals, 5-6 of them attacked him and started beating with legs and hands. They were so cruel, the teen was scrolling on the ground, crying and trying to protect his head with hands. I yelled "Stop it, what are you doing". They yelled back to shut up. I didn't know what to do , I was shocked and scared to death. They continued beating this poor boy about 3-5 min, until he was lying unconscious. Then they stole everything he had: headphones, skateboard, phone, wallet and even his coat. Then they ran away."
While she was telling me what happened I saw that some people surrounded the boy and were trying to help him get up. At that moment I was so sorry that I didn't realize what was going on there, at least I could've called 911 for help.
She continued:
- "I hate this place. Everybody complains about metro station Côte-Vertu. They sell drugs here. This is one of the dangerous places in Montreal. My son will never come here alone."
We live in Saint-Laurent and we use metro quite often. My son is at the age when he needs to travel alone to school using public transportation. He always asks us to let him go home alone from school, which means coming to station Côte-Vertu and taking a bus from there to home. After this incident we even consider moving from St Laurent so we don't use this metro station.
Dear Sir, Mr. Alan DeSousa here are some suggestions. Please spend some money from taxes we pay and change all those deem street lights in that area. Bright light around all entrances of the subway is very necessary. Also install surveillance street cameras, at least fake ones, and please have constant police patrol in that area. This way that place will not be a "nest" for crimes.
