There are plenty of other, perhaps bigger education and safety issues in our schools, but you probably saw that CPS is proposing to start next school year even earlier, on Aug 22.
Ugh!
Our petition, with your comments, was sent to CPS CEO and to Mayor Lightfoot shortly before they announced their proposal (which we understand needs to be negotiated with teachers).

Some are claiming this schedule does not cut summer break, saying the school year ends earlier too. We all know this is mistaken, and the image is intended to give what CPS is doing if it were your boss changing our 5-day-a-week job. Still five days, but we lose summer break time.
