Don’t let them euthanize Chevy, our family dog

The Issue

My daughter Jordan rescued a dog named Chevy, and he changed her life. She likes to say they rescued each other. Chevy helped her get through some tough times, including domestic violence. Now, Chevy could be euthanized and we need your help to save him.

Chevy is playful, loving, and friendly dog. Recently, he accidentally got out and attacked another dog. The dog was fine, but Chevy was taken by animal control. They deemed him aggressive and said he would have to be put down. Chevy is not aggressive and the authorities have the discretion not to kill Chevy over getting into a fight with another dog.

Please join us in pleading for Chevy’s life. Tell St. Charles Animal Control not to euthanize Chevy.

Jordan has tried to remain positive through this experience, trying not to imagine Chevy gone from her life, but I know it’s been hard on her and Chevy. My daughter loves him more than anything in this world. Chevy has been by her side, supporting her as she deals with anxiety and depression. That could all be taken away.

There are better options than euthanizing Chevy. We have pleaded with officials to allow us to provide Chevy with training to better deal with outside stressors like encountering unfamiliar dogs. Even the woman who runs the rescue where my daughter adopted Chevy, has stepped forward to offer special training if it will save his life. It’s simply unfair to kill an animal that has had such a positive impact for my family and is not a true danger to our community.

My daughter Jordan and Chevy are survivors. Let’s keep it that way. Please sign our petition to save Chevy from a death sentence.
