Big E or little e. Which type of emergency is it?

Two days ago at the Toronto's Planning and Housing Committee an extraordinary amount of time was spent debating whether homelessness qualified as a Big E or little e emergency. Seriously.

Ultimately the votes were not there to use either word. Councillors Ana Bailão and Brad Bradford were not supportive. That left Councillors Wong-Tam and Perks in the lurch.

So on the same day that 13 names were added to the Homeless Memorial, homelessness was left worded as a 'critical issue'.
