A cheeky August 7th post on Indy Tax Dollars points out a missing factor in the Red Line picture. We have never seen any realistic study of the potential conflict between hundreds of millions of dollars of new and improved road work and the willingness of drivers to abandon that in favor of riding a bus.
The post suggests the "rush to the Red Line" should be stopped until a detailed study can be made of probable negative effects on transit ridership by the presence of new and improved roads.
