My name is Abby, and I'm writing this petition on behalf of my boyfriend Tre' (Arthur L. Stuckey III).

He's been indicted for a crime he did not commit; charged with first degree robbery. All he actually did was steal one beer from a gas station, unarmed, in March.
He'd already spent almost 6 months on house arrest in my small student apartment.

Tre' had a clean record before this incident; both as an adult and as a juvenile. He is now ridiculously labelled as a felon. His next court date is January 6th, 2021.

First degree robbery can carry 20-25 years in prison. Brett Hankison's charge [one of the officers who killed Breonna Taylor] only carries 3-15 years in prison... so basically, murdering someone while being a cop isn't as bad as stealing a beer while Black.

We both offered to pay for the beer, and the cashier locked us in the store; along with four other customers, and threatened to kill us with a baseball bat. Tre’ swung on the cashier to protect me, and he got hit with a bat four times.

Tre' asked to go to the hospital while being arrested, and nobody even attended to him there. He then sat in jail for four days before being released to house arrest. While on HIP, cops would call and harass him. He didn't once leave the apartment. A cop admitted to Tre’ that his colleagues were pinging his ankle bracelet at a false location down the street. Three times, they called and told Tre’ he had an hour to get to the courthouse or he was going to jail. During a pandemic, they would force us to come there for absolutely no reason but to scare him.

The cop who wrote his report was clearly racist— he wrote that Tre' was 6'7 and 280+ pounds; while he is 6'4 (as stated on his ID) and was under 200 pounds at the time.

We're making this petition in hopes of having something to show to his lawyer and the court, should it get enough signatures :) There are tapes that prove everything; the court lied and said they had them at first, and we don't know if they have them now.
