Name a Markham school after Ted Scaysbrook

Name a Markham school after Ted Scaysbrook
The Issue
Many longtime and former residents of Markham, ON feel strongly that a local school (general vicinity of Hwy 7&48) should be re-named after a decorated war veteran and longtime school employee Ted Scaysbrook. Ted served as a custodian at Reesor Park Public School and also MDHS during the 1980’s, and was particularly impactful on ALL students in a positive way. Ted made every person he encountered feel like a special friend, and was often encouraging when someone was down. Ted shared his war experience with us every Remembrance Day, stood in the local shopping mall for the poppy drive, and truly lived the values he naturally instilled in others. He was a dedicated volunteer firefighter for the town, an extremely talented and well-known cake maker and was exceedingly warm and kind. Lets honour him the way he deserves! The young people he affected so profoundly and so positively are now in a position to repay him for his exceptional service and friendship. We the undersigned are appealing to the Mayor of Markham, Frank Scarpitti, the York Region District School Board, and the City of Markham to please consider renaming a local school in order to accomplish this. We all give thanks for his incredible leadership. Ted Scaysbrook modelled what being an amazing human being was, and he did it quietly every day with his actions. He modelled for us, how to be our best by his example. Thanks for your consideration!
