The City of Oshawa plans to demolish The Healing Lodge on May 20.

Since this pandemic began over a year ago, things have been hard, mentally, emotionally, and physical. That being said, the Healing Lodge has made it a little bit easier. It has become a place for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages, kids, parents and simply people like myself to go and escape what is happening in the world. It is some what of a natural sanctuary where you can go to get back in touch with nature.

Throughout the year it is a place to experience the salmon run, watch the leaves change, stay warm within the hut in the winter months and slow down to listen to the  birds and flowing water.

The Healing Lodge has brought back the feeling of community, which has slowly began to disappearing from our society today.

In the healing lodge there was a welcome book signed from hundreds of people who have embraced this sanctuary in the woods. Kids left drawings and photos, adults painted stones and someone even made a beautiful welcome sign. You can feel the love and passion that has was put into making the Healing Lodge what it is today.

It really would be a shame to see so many peoples hard work be torn down and demolished, and for what purpose?

This is a petition to stop the removal of The Healing Lodge.
