We are in total shock and disbelief still as to what happened yesterday at the City Council. As you know just a couple of weeks ago one of the project's real estate and land use consultants got Covid so last City Council hearing had to be postponed and applicant asked for a 2 week delay. Then because the consultant was not fully recovered, they requested additional 2 weeks extension on Monday of this week in advance of the City Council hearing. Seems like a totally reasonable request at the time when Nevada just reached a grim milestone of 5,000 Nevadans who died from Covid and you might have seen the news today that they are flying all state flags at half-staff to remember those 5,000. 

Because of that, the applicant for the food truck lot was not present for the March 4th hearing because they requested abeyance/delay, were not prepared to present a full powerpoint presentation that was prepared for the next city council hearing, did not have any of the project supporters present who were all told that the hearing will be on 3/17. The City Council totally ignored that and held a hearing without other side present. Reminds of what they do in Russia, China and North Korea.

Even a Review Journal reporter failed to report any of that and to add insult to injury stated in his article "Not a single member of the public showed up to speak in support of the proposal". Of course, because they were supposed to show up 2 weeks later and would've shown up in overwhelming numbers because majority of the Las Vegas people supports this project. 

So it was basically a kangaroo court with one side not present at all for the hearing and none of their witnesses there because they were told it will be on 3/17 due to one of the consultants out sick with Covid which should be respected during the pandemic that is ongoing still. 

I know the project is looking at all its options and recourse. Strange that something like this would happen in Las Vegas or anywhere in the United States of America...
