Hello Everyone,

I wholeheartedly agree with Hear Us Now, DCCA, and all the organizations advocating for reasonable development in the District of Columbia.

Too many city officials and agencies operate under a warped ideology—“Nobody is talking to me.” This entitlement stems from a long history of waste, fraud, and abuse embedded in D.C.’s political culture. In 2024, the Chief Financial Officer refused to certify the budget until reserves were restored to mandatory levels, exposing a $700 million deficit that was balanced on the backs of the city’s most vulnerable residents. The last time we faced a shortfall of this magnitude, under Mayor Marion Barry Jr., Congress imposed a control board.

We’ve all seen firsthand the incompetence of DDOT, the arrogance of John Falcicchio (EOM), and the failures of leadership that have plagued this city.

If Mayor Bowser had truly prioritized equity, fairness, and inclusion across all eight wards over the past 11 years, there wouldn’t be a small group demanding a better Continuing Resolution from Congress. There would be a movement 100,000 strong.

But the reality is clear: D.C. has a serious problem with waste, fraud, and abuse. And finally, it’s being confronted.
