Electing me as Mayor of Washington, D.C., is crucial as the city faces major development projects requiring full audits and oversight. Mayor Bowser is out of touch—public funding for a new football stadium is unnecessary and fiscally irresponsible. The cost of modern sports stadiums ranges between $1.5 billion and $2 billion, and taxpayers should not be left footing the bill.
These projects should be privately financed through direct negotiations with team owners, developers, and stakeholders. Public funds must be prioritized for neighborhood improvements, including street repaving, new lighting, sidewalk repairs, traffic control upgrades, sewage and drainage enhancements, and water and utility connections. As mayor, I will ensure that DC secures private investment rather than burdening residents with unnecessary debt.
Beyond financing, a new stadium must deliver tangible community benefits. This includes guaranteed employment for DC residents in both construction and stadium operations. Local businesses must receive priority contracts, ensuring that historically excluded communities share in economic growth—something the Bowser administration has consistently failed to achieve.
We must also acknowledge the racial history of professional football in DC. The original team ownership actively excluded Black fans, and today, equity must be a core principle. I will demand fair ownership opportunities, local hiring commitments, and revenue-sharing from concessions, merchandising, and parking. With 20 years of experience in real estate negotiations, I have the expertise to secure these commitments and deliver a deal that benefits all Washingtonians—not just wealthy developers and team owners.
The future of DC's development depends on fiscally responsible leadership that prioritizes residents over corporate interests. I will bring that leadership to the mayor’s office.
