Mayor Bowser's efforts to advance the Reeves Center Redevelopment project are marred by false promises of job creation, affordable housing, and the preservation of historical "Black Broadway." Unfortunately, this appears to be yet another instance of a developer-centric initiative that serves the interests of Mayor Bowser's campaign funding rather than the welfare of the community. The Request for Proposals (RFP) process was seemingly manipulated to burden DC taxpayers with costs that developers should rightfully shoulder. It is imperative that we take action. We urge you to continue circulating our petition against the demolition of the Reeves Center and to implore the city council to refrain from approving any land disposition agreements until the underlying issues within the RFP process are adequately addressed and resolved.
