I decided to create this petition after having to walk through a cloud of smoke right in front of a major health care facility. What bothers me is that business owners are open to fines while the hospital just runs as usual. Speaking to people, I hear « that’s always a problem » and « security can’t do anything »
We’ll, I say it’s time we stamped our feet and told our by-law enforcers or thé Board of Governors at the hospital that this is unacceptable. We can start a petition and we can call out the smokers.

There are cigarette butts all over the front garden of the hospital, smoke wafting into the front hallway and into the emergency room. Pregnant women and families with small children have to walk through the smoke and cigarette butts, when there are laws preventing children from being exposed to cigarette smoke. 
CBRH is a health facility run by the very government that made the smoking laws - they should be responsible for enforcing the laws. If restaurants and businesses can be fined for permitting smoking on their patios or inside, why isn’t the hospital held to the same standards?
