i was happy to hear in todays Coronavirus briefing that Nursing Homes have been advised they should use any unused medication prescribed for one resident, for any other resident with the same prescription. This is also to apply to hospital patients, I am not claiming any credit for this move - just pointing out that it was one of the points in my petition that it should be possible to share medication held in controlled environments rather than just dispose it off once the resident or patient has no longer any need for it. Residents in Nursing Homes and people with chronic health conditions are exempt from prescription charges and this move will undoubtedly save NHS money and waste.
