I have had a letter from my local MP who has agreed to write to the Health Secretary on my behalf. In the meantime I attach a link sent to me by my local CCG regarding the 2015 medicine waste campaign. I am not yet in a position to report any positive response from the NHS. The message is getting out however and more people are aware of the steps they can take to have mobility equipment collected by Medequip, a company approved by the NHS. Another fact which was communicated to me, which is also important, is that a significant proportion of unused medication which has not been returned to the Pharmacy for incineration is ending up on landfill, or in the water system (flushed down the loo) and causing pollution. So it is very important to return unused meds to the Pharmacy for proper disposal.
