Thank you to everyone who has signed my petition so far. I am just an ordinary Mum/ Grandmum who wants to support our wonderful NHS and do her little bit to avoid waste wherever possible. I have been to countries that are not blessed with the health system we have in the UK and I have seen the suffering endured by people who cannot access proper health care or afford medication. Despite its failings from time to time the NHS is a wonderful body that we are all in danger of taking for granted. If we can save money for the NHS by recycling unused, unopened medication, or at least donate this medication as part of our Overseas Aid, it would be morally so much better than simply destroying it. All the Pharmacists I have spoken to are appalled at the waste but are not able to do anything about it. Please help me gather more support by sharing this petition with as many friends as you can.
