The NSW Government wants to sell public land in Cardiff and Garden Suburbs to developers, destroying 12 hectares of quality bush including vulnerable habitat, and adding more traffic to Myall Rd Cardiff. Another 26 hectares will also be damaged on the site as a result of this proposed public land grab.

This is valuable bush habitat and home to Squirrel Gliders which are threatened, home to the Powerful owls, which are vulnerable, home to microbats, also threatened, and quite a significant site for the Black Eyed Susan plant which is listed as vulnerable.

Then there are also Bandicoots, these small nocturnal marsupials are native to Australia and are protected, but won't be if this development goes ahead.

The State Government has taken the approval decision off Lake Macquarie Council as it is valued at just over $5million, making it a Regional Planning Panel Decision. Lake Macquarie in providing advice to the panel has failed to fairly represent the communities opinions and desires to retain this bush as it is. TELL THEM "NO" TO DESTROYING THIS IMPORTANT LOCAL HABITAT
