All levels of Maths 2025 IB: lower the grade boundaries 2025

All levels of Maths 2025 IB: lower the grade boundaries 2025
The Issue
Dear fellow IB students and supporters,
We hope you are all recovering well from the intense exam season.
We are launching this petition to kindly request that the International Baccalaureate Organization review and consider lowering the grade boundaries for the Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches/Interpretations HL/Sl exams for the May 2025 session.
I would also like to state that this exam has caused an incredible amount of stress and frustration for students, knowing that our university offers are conditions and are dependent on these exams. The result of these exams can make an enormous difference in our university choices and careers
This year’s paper was exceptionally challenging for many students around the world. Even those of us who have consistently scored 7s throughout the course, with strong predicted grades, found ourselves under significant pressure. The time constraints, coupled with the unexpected difficulty of certain questions, left many feeling disheartened and unable to truly demonstrate the understanding and skills we have worked so hard to develop over the past two years.
We believe the grade boundaries should reflect the true performance and potential of students, especially given how different this year’s paper felt compared to past sessions and specimen materials.
This petition is not about asking for an unfair advantage – it’s about ensuring that hard work, consistency, and genuine mathematical ability are recognised fairly.
If you share this experience or support the cause, please consider signing and sharing. Together, we can make our voices heard in a respectful and constructive way.
