Mark Your Calendars: Montclair Township Council Meeting
Tuesday February 7th, at 6:00pm
Don’t let Them Destroy the 4th Ward and Forever Harm our Town!
There will be PUBLIC COMMENT at the start of the meeting. Please share your concerns!
Dear fellow Montclair residents,
Please make every effort to attend the Montclair Township Council on Tuesday to let our council members know they must scale back the massive and out-of-scale Lackawanna project.
The Township Council has seen our petition. And they have received the Planning Board report telling them to scale back the project.
Now they need to see and hear from us, the concerned residents, in person.
DATE: Tuesday, Feb. 7
TIME: 6 pm -- earlier start time than usual
PLACE: Municipal Building, 205 Claremont Avenue
PUBLIC COMMENTS: Usually scheduled near the beginning of the meeting.
Please sign up for public comments and make your voice heard!
WHAT IS AT STAKE:
- Lackawanna is by far the largest and most important development in Montclair’s history. It is a once-in-a-century decision that we cannot afford to get wrong.
- But because of a broken process by which the Township Council drafted this plan, we have a project that in its present form will substantially benefit the developer -- but damage Montclair forever.
DON'T BUY INTO THE ALL-OR-NOTHING ARGUMENT:
- Proponents of the current plan act is if we must accept this initial plan in full, with no changes, or Lackawanna will not be redeveloped. THAT IS FALSE.
- Thoughtful, well-considered and appropriate modifications are an expected part of the redevelopment process. Community and expert feedback will assure a best outcome.
Your council members need to hear from you!
Thank you, and we hope to see you Tuesday at 6pm!
