Earlier today, you received an update from Massage Envy CEO Joe Magnacca addressing the issue of sexual assault at Massage Envy stores and committing to making changes to their policies. Over the past few days I have had the opportunity to speak with Joe, and to meet in person with Melanie Hansen, General Counsel of Massage Envy, who flew to Richmond to talk with me about the actions the company is taking to address sexual assault. I was encouraged by their commitment to taking concrete steps, and they invited me to be a part of their effort to establish a comprehensive and transparent set of policies to better prevent sexual assaults and to support individuals who report being assaulted. I accepted their invitation, and I look forward to working with Massage Envy leadership on this front. Stay tuned for a major announcement with more details about their next steps.
