The lives of these veterans mattered to their families and these deaths are heartbreaking to the families but heartbreaking to the entire veteran community.  We have to look at the human toll.  The task of repairing this with the community, the staff, the families and the larger veteran community will be daunting to say the very least.  How can they recover from a tragedy such as this.  Can they recover?  I hope the legislature will look at this as an opportunity to increase funding in the veteran community where it is needed and to put in place some safeguards and oversight so that this is never something the people of the Commonwealth ever have to see again.
