Good day great people of Prince George's County, friends far and near and family of Dire Ososanya. We have an update regarding Mr. James Calero the alleged drunk driver who killed our beloved Dire on December 17th, 2015. As you all know that Mr. Calero is an hardened criminal with a multiple records. Mr. Calero was scheduled for a court hearing today, Tuesday Feb. 9th, 2016 for another case of First Degree Assault at the Prince George's County District involving multiple police officers. Upon arrival at the court house, while waiting for the court proceeding; the court clerk made an announcement that his case is continued. Immediately one police officer walked out of the court room upset. I followed the police officer out and asked police officer if he was part of the case, he said yes and he was asked why was the case continued; he responded that he didn't know why and that this is not the first time for his case to be continued abruptly, he said as a matter of fact, Calero committed the first degree assault offence against his own sister. Then, I seized the opportunity to inform the officer why we came to court, narrated Dire's case to him, he said he was aware of the incident, the officer assured us that the charges that were dropped are going to be re-opened based on the fatality of Dire's case and the magnitude of Mr. Calero criminal history that it's just a matter of time. While discussing with officer "A" another officer arrived to testify against Mr. Calero, he was upset too when he was informed that the case is continued. However, there is a good news; the officer informed us that Mr. Calero is currently in house arrest for approximately one month now and that he's going to remain there until he's adjudicated.
