Dear Supporters,
Thank you for keeping Liz in your thoughts and prayers and for the actions you have taken to support her commutation. Liz is my niece, and I can't tell you how much it means to her family to know that thousands of people are thinking of her.
Liz has now been in prison for 22 years, half of her life, and I believe, deeply and sincerely, that she is ready and deserves a second chance at freedom.
As you may know, along with four other women sentenced to Life Without Parole, Liz's commutation application has been investigated and is being reviewed by Governor Brown's office. Since the Governor traditionally handles commutations around Christmas and Easter, this is a crucial time to make sure he is aware that Liz has community support.
If you have not yet signed Liz's petition, could you do so now? And more importantly, if you are willing to email Governor Jerry Brown, you can have a more direct impact. Here is how:
1) Email the Governor at: pardons@gov.ca.gov
2) Include Liz's prisoner number, W58907, and commutation number, COM-2367-15
3) If you prefer, feel free to copy the suggested text below
Thank you so very much!

Subject line: Please grant Mary Liz Stroder a chance at parole! (W58907/COM-2367-15)
Dear Governor Brown,
Thank you for reviewing Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Stroder's application for commutation. I respectfully urge you to grant her commutation. If you were to spend time with Liz, you would soon realize how thoroughly rehabilitated and changed she is. During her 22 years of incarceration, she has been filled with remorse and a desire to understand the factors that led her into a dangerous and abusive relationship. Liz has taken every opportunity for counseling and education, and she has been found to be no risk to public safety, should she be released.
Please grant Liz's commutation and allow her to come home in 2016.
Sincerely,
