Increase Metra Service between Chicago and Kenosha, WI

The Issue

Problem
Currently the Union Pacific North Line run by Metra Rail services between Chicago and Kenosha are extremely limited. Commuters are limited to just 3 boarding times between 9 am and midnight.

As a rapidly growing city, Kenosha is attracting more and more tourism and employment from the greater Chicago area as well as increasing the number of residents working in Chicago and commuting from Kenosha.

With the current schedule it is nearly impossible for realistic transportation that doesn't include being displaced for up to 6 hours.

Solution
Metra can increase the number of times per day that trains reach the end of the Union Pacific North Line rather than stopping just 16 miles south at Waukegan, a much smaller and slower growing community. We believe that increased train scheduling will increase travelers between these cities and benefit, not only the communities in each city, but Metra as well with increased ridership

Personal story
I am deeply involved in promoting the growth of Downtown Kenosha, WI via a partnership in a growing restaurant group as well as service to non-profit organizations.

At our restaurants we often attract staff from the city of Chicago who are looking to take advantage of the growth in Kenosha. These staff members inevitably end up moving to Kenosha due to the lack of available transportation options. I believe that we can bolster the workforce along all stops of the Union Pacific North Line by tapping in to the available talents in Kenosha WI as well as attract talent from the infinite resources of Chicago.
