Westminster Council has proposed traffic calming measures in Saltram Crescent, to reduce non resident through traffic (c800 cars per working day), reduce dangerous speeding and use of the road as a 'rat run'.

The proposed scheme would install short lengths of one-way working at both ends of Saltram Crescent. Both these lengths of one-way operation would allow vehicles to exit the street, but not to enter it. The proposal would be implemented as an 'Experimental Traffic Order', which means it would be implemented on a trial basis by the council, giving residents the opportunity to see if it works in practise and provide feedback to the council. 

A number of options were considered by the resident working group in consultation with the council, which recommended the proposed scheme. The report from this can be viewed here:

This proposal has been under consideration for nearly a year. We the undersigned urge the Council to implement the proposed scheme as soon as possible.
