Happy Saturday everyone!
No much new to report. No word from Congressman Brad Sherman's office. Since I don't believe he will help me, I'm continuing to try and find a more direct contact to the White House.
I pay big bucks to Linked in- to be able to send people private messages. I decided to plunk out the money for work- as we are always trying to track down artists and managers on my day job at dick clark (now MRC Live & Alternative,LLC- but always dick clark in my heart- as I start my 11th award season!)
Anyway, so I put in "white house press" and "Biden" in search engine- and came up with lots of people to write to..I sent notes with link to petition- asking to direct my email to President Biden...not one single person responded! depressing for sure..but onward and upward..
Back to the petition..we have 2877 signatures..I know part of that is because I've put in 80.00 in the last two weeks- and I just plunked out another $50.00( now that I am back to work, I feel rich!) So now, I know 5000 signatures is in reach- and then maybe then, we'll get so TV press.. I need to bug Change.org as they've gotten over 2000.00 from this campaign!
Today I would like to ask a huge favor..If everyone who signed this petition just shared the link to this petition just once, I bet we'll get our 5000 signatures in record time.. and if the spirit moves you, can you donate 2 or 3 dollars- to keep the petition going? You don't have to give $50.00..two or three dollars "feed the meters" There is a place on this page where it says "copy the link"..
And for those fools like me who go on twitter..feel free to use this "tweet" to promote the petition:
Get this 2 Pres. Biden. 104 year old Marsha Hunt deserves the Presidential Medal of Freedom. With 7 decades of activism she's 1 of R country’s better angels! Sign petition https://change.org/PresidentialMedalOfFreedom4MarshaHunt Film on her: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xZ6T-qlO7w4
And finally, for your viewing pleasure I've included a link to a story that didnt make the documentary. Marsha share how she came to participate in her first telethon for United Cerebral Palsy in 1951..Then in 1952, she co-hosted the UCP telethon in Oakland with Ralph Edwards & Jack Webb. That year they were on the air for 36 hours- then a broadcast record! This shows that Marsha was indeed one of the first actors to use their "celebrity" to help those in need.
As we muddle our way through all of this "muck" in life..just remember..Marsha Hunt rose above adversity- and we will all as well!
Take care,
Roger
