My name is Jacob Bridger and I'm 13 years old.

My mates and I like to get outside and be active which, given the lockdowns, is sometimes difficult to do. We all have met at a local reserve in Hume St. East Ringwood on our bikes and we started to make jumps using the logs that were on the ground. 

We were approached by a local resident who told us we were vandals and then called the council. We were told that what we were doing was illegal and we needed to stop. 

We specifically chose the reserve on Hume St so we wouldn't be in the way of anyone utilising parks for walks and recreation such as Gracedale or Wombalano. 

We have a right to use the recreational facilities as residents of Maroondah - we just want to be able to play together with our mates and be active. 

I'm asking for your support - please sign the petition if you support kids being able to use recreational spaces in Maroondah. We're not hurting anyone. We just want to be able to ride our bikes.
