During the trial of Frank Atwood, the State brought forward multiple witnesses with shifting testimonies. Among them were:
NORA WILSON
Nora Wilson, prior to having reported to law enforcement a description of a car she claimed to have observed on September 17, 1984, queried her husband about the color of California's vehicle license plates (consequent to news reports having trumpeted that the suspect was from California). Her husband told her they were white. So Ms. Wilson reported a sighting of a vehicle with white California license plates. After Frank was arrested, and his automobile (with gold and blue license plates) was prominently displayed in the media, Ms. Wilson insisted that the supposed car she saw carried blue and gold plates. Additionally, Ms. Wilson could not initially identify a photograph of Frank as the driver and described a driver without a beard and tattoos. Frank had a distinctly noticeable beard and numerous tattoos. At trial, Ms. Wilson stated that Frank was the motorist she observed!

ROBERT McCORMICK
Mr. McCormick claimed to have viewed a car for 1-2 mins as his vehicle and the other car headed toward, and were nearly adjacent to, each other at 35-40 mph on 17 September 1984. Under these circumstances, a microsecond (not 1-2 mins.) would have elapsed for an observation. Initially, Mr. McCormick was unable to have identified Frank as the driver, even after having been shown a photograph of Frank -- saying, months later, only that the driver was male and then describing a motorist not matching Frank's appearance, a driver whom, unlike Frank, was absent facial hair and tattoos. At trial, Robert McCormick insisted Frank was the driver!

We need many more supporters, though, to put pressure on Attorney General Mark Brnovich et. al. to allow for a retrial.
