With UConn leaving the American Athletic Conference for the Big East, conference realignment might be right around the corner. New York’s Public Powerhouse, University at Buffalo, is among one of the conferences most intriguing candidate. 

Over the past few years, the Bulls have bolstered there football and basketball programs to the top of the Mid-American Conference.  Some accomplishments include:

M Basketball:

• MAC Champion (2015, 2016, 2018, 2019)
• Conference Champion (2018, 2019)
• Round of 32 Appearance (2018, 2019)
• Ranked in Top 25 of AP and Coaches Poll in all of 2019

W Basketball:

• MAC Champion (2016, 2018, 2019)
• Conference Champion (2018)
• Sweet Sixteen Appearance (2018)
• Round of 32 Appearance (2018, 2019)

Football:

• MAC Runner Up (2018)
• Conference Champion (2018)
• Bowl Eligible (2009, 2013, 2018)
• Khalil Mack, Tyree Jackson

Buffalo fits the basic profile of most schools in the AAC, being a public school and having an enrollment size of roughly 31,546 (Eaton, 2019). They are also a great geographic outlier in keeping a team in the north.
