Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic and resulting closure of businesses, economies and federal institutes such as Service Canada many foreign nationals face uncertainty as a result.

With many people’s visa expiry date drawing closer day by day who:

1. Can not gather the required documents (such as language test, biometrics, update passport, etc.) due to mandatory business closures for PR or Citizenship application.
2. Had no other option but to return to their home country due to COVID-19 because they were not eligible for Provincial health coverage and CERB / EI benefits or did not have accommodation arranged.
3. Had not yet arrived in the country due to international border closures and flight restrictions, or
4. Those who wish to extend their current visa due to unknown conditions when they return to their home country at a later date, such as accommodation and job prosperity.

We are signing this petition in hope IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) will make an exception in the face of uncertainty and extend all IEC visa’s that have been affected by the pandemic (this includes Provincial health coverage which expires the same day as the visa.)
