Keep Manitoba students learning in-person when school returns

Keep Manitoba students learning in-person when school returns
Why this petition matters

The Manitoba Teacher’s Society posted on December 31st that they are calling on the Manitoba Government to move schools to remote learning.
Students had not been consulted before they have spoken to the government, therefore this petition stands as a way that students can express their voices and make sure we send a message to the Manitoba Government and Teacher’s Society that we WANT to go back in-person and NOT remote learning.
Recent reports from Manitoba health officials suggest that schools did NOT contribute to many cases and in fact only added 2,967 cases since September 7, 2021 (these numbers are from K-12 and include staff cases).
Rapid tests are already readily available for K-6 students, and health protocols are heavily enforced in all levels of schooling. A simple solution to make sure prevention of transmission is in place is to distribute KN95 masks to staff and students to guarantee higher protection.
Students all over the province have expressed their views on wanting to keep in-person learning and this petition is a way to make sure students are heard by the government before any decision is made.
Teachers are also welcome to sign this petition because everyone should have a voice.
