I was very heartbroken when I heard about the death of George Floyd. More specifically, the cause of his death. On May 25th, 2020, he had made a purchased from a convenience store in the Twin Cities metropolitan area of Minnesota. The clerk called the police out of suspicion that Floyd paid with a counterfeit $20 bill. Yet, they had ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER that the banknote was counterfeited. When officers arrived, they pulled a gun on Floyd, who initially cooperated as he was arrested. However, Floyd resisted being placed in the police car, saying he was claustrophobic. Officers eventually pulled him from the car and Chauvin pinned him to the ground for nine minutes and 29 seconds. Floyd was unresponsive when an ambulance came and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED!!! FLOYD WAS INNOCENT!!! HE COMMITTED NO CRIME!!!

American police officers (and security guards), well, most of them, are an absolute disgrace. They harass arrest people for crimes that they DID NOT COMMIT, or worse, behavior that is not actually illegal, per se, which leads to prison overcrowding, legal corruption, and innocent human lives suffering at the hands of poorly-trained, idiotic, corrupt human beings, more specifically cops.

Here is a good example. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has a no-photography policy on their property, which includes PATH, their rapid transit network that connects North Jersey with Lower Manhattan. The worst part is, they use illegal tactics to enforce it. They have confiscated people's cameras, and even arrested people for taking photographs and filming. Litigation following such confiscations or arrests have generally, but not always, resulted in charges being dropped and/or damages awarded. BORDERLINE RIDICULOUS!!! I can understand being arrested for smoking or vaping in a public place (which is in fact illegal, and yes I can confirm it), but NOT for taking pictures, which in fact is a GUARANTEED RIGHT under the First Amendment in the United States Constitution!

Furthermore, I heard a story about a man arrested in the San Francisco Bay Area for eating a sandwich on a BART station platform. Since when is eating a sandwich illegal?! Oh yeah, that's right, IT'S NOT!!! Human, much like animals, depend on food for survival, and when we are told not to eat or drink, we are deprived of hunger. And he should have had every right to consume his breakfast, considering the fact that food and beverages are served in the station, and that's where the sandwich was purchased. You can read the full story here.  If a person is eating in public and they make a mess, it's not a big deal! Just get janitors to clean it up, and there you go! Problem solved!

Therefore, I believe that Federal Law should require all American police officers regardless of rank to take diversity training and de-escalation when they go through training. It is time we put an end to this nonsense ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!! Just because some people look and act differently than others DOES NOT MEAN THAT THEY SHOULD BE TREATED ANY DIFFERENTLY!!!
