What about the vulnerable lost kids?
the difference in actions and empathy for abused animals and none for vulnerable abused humans is phenomenal – as humans ignore their brother, or the children in disabilities and then cry over animals just shows the hypocrisy of human nature
The song “welcome to the fire” I found powerful when I saw it in the movie one from India “Charlie 777” it makes you cry it makes you happy, about a man who was reclusive and lost all his family and the Labrador Charlie comes into his life changing his whole world. He stands up for his little dog and even brings the dog rights organization to the breeders who had tormented his dog. Actually overcoming adversity when you are really down is something we all need the strength to do and draw on that desperation to rise up and help those we are trying to defend. The main actor in the story beats up the cruel breeder guy. (I would love that to happen to some of the disability providers who hurt our children who also cannot speak up just like this little puppy).
I don’t doubt it I had dogs for pets as a child and I loved puppies, and this movie highlights the abuse by dog breeders in India this little dog escaping and finding love with a master who at first rejects and then wants her. It is emotional and relationships are. Noted in the legacy of the movie on Wikipedia " The demand for Labradors was reported to have increased after the release of the film.[88] However, experts and activists were of the view that pets should not be brought home on the basis of short term plan based on temporary flow of emotions[89] since it would lead to sudden spike in their demand leading to unethical breeding which ironically was spoken against in the movie.[90] A sniffer dog inducted into the Mangalore police department was named Charlie.[91" Puppies are bought emotionally and big money for breeders.
Yet I heard from a man a few months again here, who used to live in India now here running a business when I gave him my petition one day tell me his brother has a disability child and kept him on a chain – he shook his head in a sorry way, saying back in India that is what is happening. I couldn’t even bear thinking about it. Our children who have disabilities are not animals no human is an animal and should never be treated like that – where is the compassion? How can they be so cruel? I say the same things when workers hurt my son and it broke my heart – how can they be so cruel? How could they do that to him when he cannot defend himself? Sometimes I wish he was a secret kung fu fighter who would take those who try to hurt him by surprise those able bodied able to speak ‘support’ workers who get away literally with murder at times. For shame.
Its easy to care about animals they as they are also pets and we fight for them and so we should but we should also care about our fellow humans and children who cannot speak for themselves when someone hurts them, just as vulnerable as the little puppies, they are exploited by many of the disability providers now who are meant to care for our disability children but instead hurt them and take the money at the same time also lording over parents who are worn out trying to do their best. People humanise animals and dehumanize humans they cannot understand yet any if us could lose our ability to talk or walk at any time. We need to care for the vulnerable and not turn our backs on their cries for help.
We need human rights to be upheld for those vulnerable here in Australia, those with disabilities, those who cannot even speak, we must not put animals before humans showing compassion to them but not vulnerable children and persons. God created all of us equal men, women, children and those who are vulnerable need to be supported and backed with protection for their rights. Australia signed the United Nations human rights charter and also regarding those with disabilities, including children – pledged to do their best to look after them and give them the same chances in life an education and support. They must have been crossing their fingers when they signed the United Nations charter. They fail constantly to uphold those who are vulnerable even attacking and fighting parents (the NDIS) with top lawyers to stop them getting funding from an organization that was formed to give them the funding to help their child. How contrary. International law does not become Australian law until it is put as law into our law system. We need to fight for human rights laws for disabilities to be implemented into our laws here in Australia. People in the disabilities sectors especially providers always say they have a no abuse policy and then allow it to happy. There needs to be more than words there needs to be accountability by those in the disabilities sector and educating of workers lifting the bar, they need to actually care about the vulnerable not just want the money for the work. Most providers and CEOs are business people who know little about those who are struggling to live with disabilities and often non verbal with parents who live a life of constant stress and need help. This new governments needs to step up now but will they and will Bill shorten actually care for those in disabilities as the new minister? Lately he has talked about whether NDIS is sustainable? As Samantha Connor said “stop talking about sustainability and talk about ”. Do they talk about sustainability because they don’t want to sustain those with disabilities anymore ?

Is that the hidden agenda? Neo-liberalism as they say is to get rid of any kind of welfare and this country is pushing that kind of action all the time. Just because other countries wont give human rights to their disability children and adults does not mean Australia should be allowed to go that way no matter how many overseas migrants they want to come in to enjoy the money they bring to this country. Australia needs to still care about human rights for those who are vulnerable and with disabilities, and have those rights accounted for and upheld and if the government will not then we must hold them accountable too or why should they be getting any taxpayers money? When they will not listen to those who have great need the people who voted for them.
Parents and those who care need to step up and fight for what those in disabilities need – protection and real care. Just like the aged care, disabilities services becomes a money pot for those in business, but not about care at all and that is when the worst abuses can happen.
