Mandate Visual Drug Poisoning Awareness Materials/Presentations in MD Public Schools
The Issue
My son, Tyler, was tragically poisoned to death by Isotonitazine and Bromazolam - substances 20 times more potent than Fentanyl. He had no idea what he was consuming; he never chose to ingest these poisons. I live with the torturous pain of his loss every day and I am dedicated to ensuring no other family has to endure this suffering. This is why we need your support for a mandate requiring visual drug poisoning awareness materials in all public schools across Maryland.
The drug poisoning crisis is taking too many lives, especially among our youth who are often unaware of the dangers they face. In Anne Arundel County alone, there were 152 opioid-related deaths in 2019 (Maryland Department of Health). Visual materials such as posters and banners can play a crucial role in raising awareness about this crisis because they require no effort from anyone yet leave lasting impressions.
Time is of the essence - each day without these materials means more students remain vulnerable to becoming victims of drug poisoning. By signing this petition, you are helping protect our children from falling prey to this silent killer and potentially saving lives. Please sign today!
