As a concerned parent in Leavenworth, KS, I am deeply worried about the potential impact on my child's education and that of future generations if our school district, USD 453, does not maintain a five-day school week. Our children's ability to learn effectively is at stake.

Research has shown that reducing the number of school days can have detrimental effects on students' academic performance. According to the National Education Association (NEA), students in districts with four-day weeks often show lower test scores compared to their peers attending schools five days a week. Moreover, it also affects working parents who may struggle with childcare arrangements for the extra day off.
