Mandate Toowoomba City Council to Improve Animal Management Conditions

Mandate Toowoomba City Council to Improve Animal Management Conditions
The issue
As a resident of Toowoomba, I am appalled by the inadequate conditions within our own Toowoomba Animal Management Facility. Animals are being subjected to unsuitable conditions, including sleeping on freezing concrete and cage floors, devoid of the essential warmth and comfort they deserve.
Daily, a staggering number of animals are kept here, yet, they're not provided with fresh bedding, which is a fundamental need to promote their wellbeing. We demand the council to rise and rectify these issues urgently. An animal shelter should focus on the welfare and wellbeing of these innocent creatures, not degrade their quality of life.
Statistics suggest that facilities ensuring better conditions have seen improved overall animal health and a rise in successful rehoming (Australian Veterinary Association) - a testament to the potency of a compassionate approach towards animals. By offering basic conveniences like beds raised off the abhorrently cold concrete floors, providing fresh bedding daily, we'll uphold the dignity of impounded animals in a manner fitting our community's values.
Let's unite to protect our four-legged friends. Let's urge our council to guarantee beds elevated from the cold ground and fresh bedding daily for every impounded animal, ensuring that their stay, however temporary, is comfortable, warm, and safe.
Please join this cause, sign our petition, and help bring about this much-needed change in the Toowoomba City Council's handling of animal welfare.
