Justice Should Mean Justice

The Indiana Department of Correction officially lists Joshua Thompson’s earliest possible release date as May 10, 2058. While that may seem like a long time, it does not change why this petition exists. Kaitlynn’s life was taken forever. Her children lost their mother forever. Our family received a life sentence of grief, while even in cases like this, there is still the possibility of release. That is why we continue fighting—not just for Kaitlynn, but for every victim and every family whose lives have been shattered by domestic violence. Our goal has never been about one person. It has always been about changing the law so that those who commit the most violent acts of domestic abuse face consequences that truly reflect the devastation they cause.
